PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS: THE ART OF A MESSY LIFE

A sold out show, which premiered at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre in 2018. Exploring what it means to live a juicy, creative life in the midst of imperfections, Celeste’s dance, comedy and poetic voice with Juno nominated Proznick’s bass playing and guest harpist Alexa Reimer and Katherine Penfold’s vocals will entice you into living creatively in your own mess. Themes of body image, sensuality, living multiple and complex lives, loss, letting go, worry and wonder thread through a provocative and hilarious performance calling you to embrace all your beautiful imperfections.

With humour and humanity, Celeste explores the lusciousness and absurdity of sensuality, the body and mid-life in all its limitations, beauty and paradox. This performance touches on issues of on-line dating, loss, parenting, the spirituality of worry, and the heart of what it means to live a voluptuous life. Celeste is joined by award winning bassist Jodi Proznick and Directed by Lynn Fels. Premiered at The VanCity Culture Lab in Vancouver, B.C., Sept. 20 & 21, 2014.
